The new member of the family

Don has been really lucky to be able to carpool in the last few years, but after 8 years of being a one car family we finally joined the ranks of the minivan crowd. We found a used Toyota Sienna from a broker in Tucson and decided that the price was right. It is only a year old, but used as a rental car vehicle so it has about 30K miles on it. The backs seat is one of those "fold and go" deals - which we love and there is an optional seat that unfolds and fits between the two middle captains chairs for and "8 seater" option. I was not in love with the color (Don has nicknamed it "Doublemint") but since I am in the car and don't really have to look at the outside too much (giant easter egg anyone?) I got over it. Super yeah for our children not having to elbow each other the whole trip!!

Colossal Caves

We are going about visiting some of the Tucson sites we never have even though we have been here for 5 years... First up - Colossal Caves! The kids had a blast, but I felt we were hurred through the actual caves on the tour. Afterwards we spent 30 min playing in a "river" (a full wash) that the kids thought was WAY better than the caves. :0)

Garden Fun

Part of my birthday present was some large pots in the front yard (not pictured) and some more plants in the backyard. Here are the kids planting a potato bush and Don digging a hole for the honeysuckle. We love our backyard so much! When Ryan comes home from school, he heads straight to the backyard for a little downtime. I caught him snoozing on the warm grass (fake as it comes) but couldn't get a shot in before he perked up and gave me a cheesy grin. We are also nurturing pumpkin, zucchini, white and yellow corn, tomato and strawberries in the veggie garden not pictured. We love being outdoors in the Spring!

Birthday Wishes

Well, lots has happened in the last month - lets start at the beginning with my birthday. The kids got me some great doller store presents, which I am modeling here. Flip-flops from Wyatt, "LOVE" earrings from Ryan, and berry lip gloss from Mia. Of course the best present is being loved by so many good kids! Here I am wrangling kids on my 30th birthday...
